How Anthony Field Got His “Wiggle” Back
As leader of Australian children’s music group The Wiggles, Anthony Field performs in concerts for over a million audience members each year. Since 1991, the group has earned 17 gold, 12 platinum, three double-platinum, and ten multi-platinum awards for sales of over 17 million DVDs and 4 million albums. Witnessing the unmatched joy of young kids singing and dancing up a storm every day makes the Wiggles, according to Anthony, “the greatest job in the world”.
But despite their unprecedented worldwide success, he almost gave it all up in 2004. Anthony was addled by chronic back and neck pain along with a string of digestive and food intolerance issues that had left him in a general state of poor health and fueled the clinical depression he had battled for years. As much as he loved performing with the Wiggles, it got to the point that he simply couldn’t continue. According to Anthony, he was “smiling on stage every day, but in agony behind the scenes.” Read more
Can Chiropractic Improve Your Game?
The demands athletes place on their bodies require them to work like finely tuned, well-oiled machines. Especially for professional athletes, there’s little time for injuries in their intense training and competition schedules, which is why virtually every American professional sports team has a sports chiropractor on staff to care for its athletes.
Sports, whether at the amateur or professional level, require a combination of strength, balance, coordination and flexibility to succeed. To reach the height of achievement in any sport requires split-second reflexes, peak structural strength and stability and a will and determination to keep going when the going gets tough. It requires a body that is functioning at its highest capacity.
As a sports chiropractor in Milwaukee, Dr. Linsay focuses her attention on the function of the spine and the vital nerve tissue (the spinal cord) that is encased in it. When it is in proper alignment, the spine protects the spinal cord from damage, while its 26 separate moving parts (the vertebrae) provide a perfect combination of stability and flexibility to allow for a full range of functional movements. “My Physician Diagnosed Me With A Disc Herniation. Can You Help?”
I hear the same question from Milwaukee disc herniation sufferers every week. They’re dealing with sharp, debilitating back pain, perhaps even with sciatic pain down the leg, and their MRI came back with the diagnosis of a bulged or herniated disc. Fortunately, the answer is usually “Yes, you’re in the right place.” Read more
What Is Kinesio Tape?
In his book Every Second Counts, Lance Armstrong writes “The team wasn’t just riders. It was mechanics, masseurs, and doctors. But the most important man on the team may have been the chiropractor. I could not have won without my chiropractor’s help”. He goes on to describe how, while on tour, his chiropractor would use “something better than any laser, wrap, or electronic massage device: Kinesio Tape. It’s a special hot-pink athletic tape that came from Japan and seemed to have special powers. Every morning before the stage, they would tape us all up, different parts of our bodies– George’s back, Chechu’s knees. Sometimes we’d be so wrapped up in hot-pink tape that we’d look like dolls, a bunch of broken dolls. But the next day the pain disappeared; it was gone.” Read more
Milwaukee Auto Accident Chiropractor
It’s not uncommon to experience back pain or neck pain following a car accident. In fact, the majority of motor vehicle accident victims tend to report at least some degree of pain and discomfort within the first few days after the accident. Auto accidents and the whiplash and spinal injuries that accompany them can be extremely serious, and research has shown that without proper care their devastating effects can last a lifetime.
